Tabwren is a web app that helps you record shared expenses within a group and calculate balances and suggested transfers. The free version is free to use with no time limit. Pro features are unlocked with a license key bought through a one-time payment. Tabwren is sold under the Dowel Pages studio brand; contact details are on the Contact page.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Tabwren and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to buy Pro.
Tabwren only does arithmetic with the amounts, exchange rates and split choices you enter. It does not hold, send, receive or move money, is not a bank or payment service, and does not give financial, tax, legal or accounting advice. Exchange rates are entered by you and are not looked up or checked by us. Amounts are rounded to the cent, so totals can differ by a cent from other tools. Check the numbers before anyone pays; agreements about who owes what are between you and the people in your group.
Your data is stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for it, including making backups and for the share links you create and send. We cannot see or recover data deleted from your browser. Only enter other people's information that is needed and that they would expect you to use for splitting costs.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Tabwren. A Pro key is for your own use on your own devices. Do not share, publish or resell keys; publicly shared keys may be disabled in future versions. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it.
The price is shown in US dollars before you pay and is charged once through Stripe. Taxes may apply depending on your location. Pro is delivered immediately after payment. You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, as described in the Refund Policy. This is in addition to, and does not limit, any rights you have under consumer law.
We work to keep Tabwren available and working correctly, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or disagreements or debts between members of a group, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim (or US$20 if you used only the free version). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Do not use Tabwren for anything illegal, to mislead people about what they owe, or to attack or overload the website.
We may update the app and these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Changes do not take away Pro features you already paid for. You can stop using Tabwren at any time by deleting your data.
Please contact us first; most problems are solved quickly by email. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws and courts of the country where you live.
